Heat Wave

heatwaveI have never been able to figure out why people live in the ungodly of places. Take for example, Arizona. It is consistently hotter then hell during the Summer months and frankly, I can’t stand the heat.

So when San Antonio weather crept to a record-breaking 103 yesterday and so far at least 4 days straight with 100+ degree weather, I added San Antonio to the list of placed I wouldn’t want to live. Unfortunately, I do live here and the heat is killing me.

Riding the bus in the summer heat is not something that I seriously thought about when taking up my bus riding adventure, but I have to keep it in mind now. There are some tricks I can do to cool off, but not many. I stay indoors when I can, so the one stop I have to bear with the heat is the Vance Jackson after work. I only have to wait about 5-10 minutes if I’m lucky so it’s not too bad. I wonder if there is an iPhone app to cool myself off during the heat wave we are in.

Some hints to keep safe in this heat? Drink plenty of water, stay in shaded or covered areas as much as possible, and we breathable clothing. I need to stock up on my mesh shirts for the summer now.

Until later
