Insomnia Kills

- Nicolas Cage in Bangkok Dangerous.
I decided to try an experiment in entertainment. Well not really. What happens is I wake up at 5:15 am to get ready for work. I hop on the bus at 6:11 and usually sleep for an hour until I meet my connection across town. This is something that I still have to get used to.
When I drove to work, I woke up at 6:00 am and left the house at 6:40 for a 20-30 minute drive to fight for parking. Yes the work parking lot gets full by 7:15. That stress along with the stress of following someone driving 15 mph below the speed limit really got to me, but I didn’t dare try a different way to get to work.
So my morning commute, while longer, affords me the lack of stress I guess I really needed. The side effect is I get tired. I sleep. On the bus, at work, at home. I sleep a hell of a lot more. Then I wake up at 9:30 pm and am awake until 2ish am.
Today, well yesterday now, I tried something new. In-Transit Movie. I pulled out my laptop and watched Bangkok Dangerous. I’m somewhat of a Nicolas Cage fan, but to be honest with you, I wasn’t pleased with the movie. It did have a lot of action, but the acting wasn’t up to par and of course, Nicolas Cage was in it. I have to tell you though, the ending really did surprise me. Also I have to say that while it was short on acting, the action did make up for some of it. I think Nic had a hard time acting like he was in love with a deaf girl. He just didn’t know how to do it.
Needless to say, I stayed awake on the bus, but that was it. Now when I say I fall asleep at work that is not entirely true. If I am not busy doing my rounds about the hospital, I am in my office, fighting the sleep that creeps up.
It’s when I get home that kills me. 7:00 pm in bed 9:30 pm awake again. I think tomorrow, or rather today, I will take a muscle relaxer to sleep well. In any case, to entertain myself tomorrow, I think the In-Transit Movie will be Pineapple Express. Check back tomorrow when I describe some of the characters I come across on the bus.
I know this post really didn’t make any sense, but bear with me. I’m in the middle of my second daytime. It sucks because its 12:45 am and I’m not sleepy yet. Hopefully soon I will go back to sleep.
